Our Beginnings

Christos and his brothers started with very humble beginnings in Greece making handmade jewelry for baptisms, mostly crosses and special baptismal charms. He made so many of the baptismal charms he could cut the intricate pattern by pure memory. After immigrating to the United States and working for a few years in the New York diamond district Christos moved to Florida to work at one of the major jewelers in St Petersburg. He eventually started his own jewelry business in downtown St. Petersburg in 1973. He then moved to the current location in South Pasadena, Florida in 1983. Christos continued building his business and was known as one of the most trustworthy and skilled jewelers in the Tampa Bay area until his passing in 2019. His son Pete is continuing the family legacy and adding the business online.

Pictured to the left is the original location which was on 1st Avenue North between 4th and 5th Streets near the downtown open air US post office.

We have been servicing the Tampa Bay area with custom jewelry design and have manufactured many unique piece that express each individual's style. Many of the pieces have been handed down over the years offering sentimental remembrances of times passed.

Fun and Fancy for over 40 years

Why fun and fancy? Jewelry should be a statement that reflects your personality and we at Century Jewelers know that each piece has an emotional attachment. Jewelry can make you feel happy or can draw up past memories or create new ones. It can also be used to create a statement to someone showing how much they mean to you. Engagement rings are always important but many of our clients purchase something that they know will be handed down to the next generation, it becomes sentimental, not just a physical piece of jewelry. Many of them say, "I remember my grandmother every time I wear that ring."
